DOWNHILL RACE FORMAT

Each event adopts a downhill race format consistent with high speed Olympic downhill racing.  Eclipse’s race officials have created a unique format consisting of two timed runs for each racer.  The result is high speed, dramatic competition in ski racing's greatest test: The Downhill.

The International Team Competition

The Ford Downhill Series is an International Team Competition.  Former national team members who wrote Olympic and World Cup downhill skiing history join together to proudly represent each athletes’ homeland in this battle among nations.  The winning team is determined by the combined times of each team member's second run.  Team France currently holds the Team Title.

Ford Downhill Series: Individual Competition

The winner is determined by the combined time of both runs.  Training runs determine the start order for the first of the two runs.  Each racer selects his start order at the Opening Ceremonies at each race course.

Kyle Rasmussen of the United States currently holds the Individual Title.
